Born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1989, Fan-Ya have begun her piano
study since at age four. Fan-Ya attended Dun-Hua elementary
school (Studied with Teacher Shu-Fen Zheng and Teacher Mei-Fu
Chen), The Junior High division of The Affiliated Senior High
School of National Taiwan Normal University(Studied with Teacher
Qing-Wen Tu), The Affiliated Senior High School of National
Taiwan Normal University(Studied with Teacher Ru-Lin Lai). With
great love and passion for music, it is Fan-Ya's ultimate goal
to become a concert pianist.
Fan-Ya has participated in numerous piano competitions,
including Mandarin Daily News National Piano Competition(2000,
First Prize), KAWAI National Piano Competition(2002, First
Prize), YAMAHA National Piano Competition(2003 2nd Prize), New
Art National Music Competition (2006, honorable mention), Hsing
Tein Kong Music Competition for Talented Youth (2006, honorable
mention) and National Chamber Music Competition (2007, First
Prize).
In 2007, Fan-Ya was selected by The 3rd Treasury of Young
Musicians Project as on of the "rising stars" and one of the
most promising young pianist in Taiwan. With this honor, Fan-Ya
had the privilege of receiving a series of rigorous training
sponsored by the Yaiwan Government to prepare for a professional
career in music. As well as representing Taiwan to participate
in several International Piano Competitions.
Furthermore, Fan-Ya also attended many music festival and
piano master classes given by renowned pianist and master
teachers such as Gwhyneth Chen, Ivo Pogorelich, Gergly Boganyi,
Lev klychkov, Boris Berman, Rektor Dr. Siegfried Mauser, Tamas
Vasary, Sung-Won Lee, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, Stephane
Lemelin, Dr. Nelita True, etc.
In 2008, Fan-Ya was accepted into several prestigious music
school in Taiwan (National Taiwan Normal University and Taipei
National University of the Arts) and in the U.S. (The Juilliard
School, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and Weber State
University).
In the fall of 2008, Fan-Ya received a four-year full
scholarship to attend Weber State University in Utah, and is
currently a piano student of Dr. Yu-Jane Yang. |
