Hi I'm Sydnee!  I've finished my first semester in Weber State's piano program, and I love it!  I've been playing piano since I was seven years old.  My first teacher was a young girl who lived up the street from me.  I took from her for a few months.  When she left on her mission, her mother took over teaching me for about three years.  When I was about 10 years old I began taking from a more advanced teacher who also lived right up the street from me.  She taught me well and was the person who really helped develop my love for music.  She stopped my progress in the method books and introduced me to fun classical music!  I immediately found a love for Bach music.  I don't know why I enjoyed listening and playing his music so much when I was younger, but for some reason it fascinated me.
After I turned 15 I began taking lessons from Dr. Yang at Weber State.
This was a huge change!  In all my previous learning I had had little
experience with technique and theory skills.  Through the Weber
State Prep program I was able to develop these skills,
learn
concepts of music theory, and learn many different styles of
music.
I don't know if I have a favorite composer now, but I
enjoy Liszt, Mozart, Brahms, and Bach's music very much!

I began teaching piano to young children when I was about
13. I admit I was not that great of a teacher for a while, but with
more experience and practice I saw myself progressing and it was
wonderful to see my students progressing so well also.  I enjoy teaching
children, I love the satisfaction of seeing my students succeed and accomplish their goals.  I find so much pleasure in planning recitals for my students then sitting in the audience and watching them show off what they have worked so hard to learn and perform.
I was home schooled from my second grade year up until my junior year in high school when I graduated and began college up at Weber State.  It has been an amazing experience so far and I look forward to all the experiences I will have in the future!
