"There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself." ~Johann Sebastian Bach

"To play without passion is inexcusable!" ~Ludwig van Beethoven

Whitney Wasden began playing the piano at age six in Japan.  Over the years, she studied with many talented teachers who each shared their love of music with her.  She completed the Weber State University Piano Preparatory Program where she studied with Laurisa Ward Cope and Dr. Yu-Jane Yang.  Whitney has continued studying with Dr. Yu-Jane Yang at Weber State University and is now pursuing a Piano Pedagogy major.  Full academic and many piano scholarships have been awarded to Whitney.  Other honors and awards for piano include first runner-up for State Sterling Scholar 2006 in Music and consecutive Honors Recital performances for the Utah Music Teacher’s Association.  Whitney is a member of the Golden Key Honors Society and the Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA).  She serves as Co-Vice President for the “Treblemakers” club, the WSU collegiate chapter of MTNA.  As a college student, she also loves traveling to attend the MTNA National Conference.  A full time student, Whitney teaches at both her private studio and the Weber State University Preparatory Program.  Her dream is to continue her studies in piano pedagogy at graduate school after finishing her major.  Whitney loves to sing and is a member of the WSU Chamber Choir.  Besides singing, she also loves to spend time with family and friends, read fiction books, and go fly fishing.
