Mrs. Owen's Biography

Rosann Owen is a piano pedagogy major at Weber State University. She takes private lessons from Dr. Ralph van der Beek and has previously studied with Dr. Regina Yeh (University of Washington), Dr. Diana Page, and Lydia Wu. Rosann studies pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Yu-Jane Yang. Rosann was the past president for the “Treblemaker” Club, which is the collegiate MTNA chapter for Weber State. She helped her chapter receive the “National MTNA Collegiate Chapter of the Year Award” this last April at the 2008 MTNA National Conference in Denver. Rosann was the Festival Chair over the 2008 Weber State Piano Festival. Rosann accompanies various students in the music department at Weber State. In 2006 Rosann accompanied the WSU Wind Ensemble in Washington DC at the Kennedy Center. Besides being a full time student Rosann teaches around 25-30 students at Terrace School of Music. Rosann has taught both private and group piano classes. She loves music and creates that same excitement with her students. When she isn’t practicing the piano she loves to spend time with her husband. She enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, and being with her family.
