NOTE: This is an individual assignment (NOT a collaborative one).

Format: Memo (use paragraphs, not lists)

Introduction

  • Identifies the project (Remind the reader of your project and document set.)
  • Explains the reporting period (This element includes the time since the last reporting period. So, basically, the time period from the proposal until the last status report is due.
  • Provides an overview of the remaining content

Facts and Discussion

This section discusses the status of your project.

  •       Past Work (or Work Completed)

    o      What should you tell your reader about the work you have done so far?

    o      Are you on schedule?

    o      What have you accomplished? What work that was planned is not completed?

    o      Have you obtained any results that your readers would like to know about immediately?

  • o      Have you encountered any significant problems that your readers should know about?

  •       Present Work (or Current Work)
  • o      What do you have in process?

  •      Work Not Yet Completed (or Future Work)

    o      What progress do you expect during the next reporting period? (The period from when the status report is due until the final project is submitted.)

    o      Do you foresee any significant problems that your reader should know about? (Explain how you plan to deal with any issues that may interfere with the project's completion.)

Conclusion

  •     How does the project stand overall? (scheduling? budget?)

Recommendations

  •       What actions should your reader take (if any)? (The Conclusion and Recommendations sections may be combined.)

I am the audience for this assignment. Specifically, I am interested in each team member's individual progress in the overall project. Remember to provide details and explanations so you audience understands what you have been working on during this reporting period.
