2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion: Moved to approve the minutes for the December 16, 1999 meeting.

Outcome: The minutes were approved.

3. Research, Scholarship and Professional Growth Committee B Gary Godfrey, Chair, reported on the instructional improvement and research proposals awarded during Fall Semester 1999.

The committee had $15,000 for instructional improvement and research proposals, $10,000 for new faculty awards, and $3,500 in recovered funds from expired projects for a total of $28,500 available for the Fall awarding period. The committee received 27 proposals which requested just over $60,000. Fourteen projects were funded for a total of $25,600. New Faculty awards were given to four faculty members: John Cavitt, Lauren Fowler, Colin Inglefield, and Suzanne Kanatsiz for a total of $10,014.
January 24, 2000 is the deadline for Hemingway proposals. The deadline for RSPG Spring 2000 proposals is March 23, 2000.

4. Teaching Learning and Assessment B Candadai Seshachari

Bob Higginson, Chair of the Teaching Learning and Assessment Committee, has taken a leave of absence from the University. The Executive Committee recommended that Judith Mitchell, liaison to the committee, along with the subcommittee chairs oversee the committee for the next three months (February, March, and April). The position will be advertised in the Spring.

5. Curriculum and General Education B Jim Wilson, Chair

course proposal for Computer Competence - IS&T 1000 to Software Skills for Business - IS&T 1000. This proposal is being sent back to the Curriculum and General Education Committee to review the course syllabus and discuss the computer literacy requirement.
