They are clarifying transfer status of students with AA/AS degrees from accredited universities outside the Utah System of Higher Education. In addition, the new language allows for the DANTES exam results to be considered for credit much like the CLEP tests. There are slight changes concerning the practice of awarding credit for foreign language to transfer students. This change is also supported by changes made to PPM 6.2.
PPM 6-2
4. International applicants must submit the application information required of new freshmen or transfer students (as applicable), and must submit evidence of:
a. English Proficiency: Provide evidence of English proficiency such as Test of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) with minimum scores of 500 (written), 173 (computer based), or 61 (internet based) or the International English Language Testing System (BELTS) with minimum score of 4.8.
