3. WELCOME NEW PROVOST
Becky Johns on behalf of the Faculty Senate welcomed Michael Vaughan as the new Provost of Weber State University. Jeff Livingston was thanked for his services as Interim Provost and acknowledged at the Interim Dean of the Goddard School of Business and Economics.

Program Changes for Physical Education Major and Minor
Nonsubstantive Changes - Informational Item
The HPHP Program is being restructured deleting some courses, changing some courses, and adding some new courses. The emphasis on coaching is being dropped. The restructuring is guided by accreditation issues from NASPE/NCATE. Credit hours in the major and minor are reduced. Two tracks were added to the major and minor to allow students to graduate with or without teaching licensure.
Motion: Moved to approve the above course deletions,
course changes, new courses and program changes from Health Promotion and
Human Performance.

Outcome: The motion passed unanimously.
5. OTHER ITEMS
The Northwest Accreditation Team will report their accreditation findings in the Wildcat Theater on Friday, October 22 at 12:00 noon. Special thanks was given to all those who participated in the accreditation process
