Dean of student's college andAssociate Provost
3 Students who have not declared a major must obtain approval from the Director of Academic Advisement and the Associate Provost in lieu of the department chair and the college dean, respectively.
Students feel that if they have the required GPA, they should not be required to get additional approval. Several Senators expressed concern that the revised policy might set students up for failure, and felt that there needed to be some safe guards in place on the number of allowable credits during a semester. Many felt it is helpful to students to meet with an advisor or administrator. Because there is no mandatary advisement on campus, this may be the only time the student meets with an advisor.
