ARCC Academic Resources and Computing
ARCC is designing a process for faculty to request funds to support the implementation of information technology within academic departments, colleges, and the Library. Within the context of limited funding, the ARCC endeavors to provide at least partial support to critical and/or innovative projects across the campus. The process being developed is similar to the process the RSPG Committee uses. The elements would include:
Request for Proposals
Criteria for Funding
Proposal for Funding and Budget
Minor suggestions were made by Executive Committee members to amend the forms. It was suggested that Departments are notified of the proposal being submitted and approval by the Department Chair be included on the form. Dale Ostlie will discuss the suggestions with ARCC members.

NON SUBSTANTIVE
Jim Wilson presented a proposed Curriculum and General
Education Committee Policy Manual change regarding substantive and
nonsubstantive program proposals. It reads:
Nonsubstantive program proposals are those which add, delete, or change elective courses within a program. Substitution of required courses with courses of equal credit value from
within the academic department hosting the program are also nonsubstantive. Name changes to a program are nonsubstantive as long as they do not mislead or infringe on the names of existing programs.
Nonsubstantive program proposals require the approval of the department chair, college curriculum committee, dean, and chair of the Curriculum and General Education Committee.
