NTM 3730. Cyber Policy and Ethics (3) F

Explores how the structural, competitive, economic, environmental, and ethical forces affect the continuing transformation of the telecommunications industry both domestically and internationally. Discussion of the impact of contemporary issues on the provider and the consumer of telecommunications services including the legal and ethical requirements and ramifications of electronic privacy. Prerequisite: TBE 2710 and TBE 2720.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • At the completion of this class the students will be able to demonstrate a more thorough understanding of policies, rules, and laws governing the communications industry, including the historical context of these policies and their macro-economic impacts.
  • They will be able to articulate current issues and trends and describe in detail modern laws and policies pertaining to telecommunications. 
  • Students will also be able to apply this knowledge to current practical situations encountered by both providers and users of the communications infrastructure and services.
