MLS 4804 - Research
Projects in Medical Laboratory Sciences II

This course is a continuation of MLS 4803, Research Projects in MLS I. Students
will continue working on their original research project that was initiated fall
semester. After completing the project, students will present their research
findings in poster and oral formats, along with preparing a formal manuscript
for publication in the university undergraduate research journal ERGO and
possibly in other appropriate scientific journals. Prerequisite: MLS 4803.

MLS 4804 requires a once
a week scheduled meeting. The original assessment of one credit hour for each
research class was underestimated. The amount of work expected from the students
necessitated the additional credit hour. The following portions of the required
fieldwork justify the increase of and additional credit hour:
reagent and equipment purchase
conducting of research
presenting finding both oral and poster
preparation of final manuscript for publication in ERGO and other appropriate
scientific journals
