Description:                An educational experience designed to provide an additional dimension to the student’s course of studies. The objective of this seminar is to compliment the didactic studies with real-world experiences in an open forum of evaluation and discussion.

Objectives:                 Students will be able to demonstrate an overall understanding of general issues related to healthcare administration. More specifically, the student will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of:

Assignments:   The students are expected to do the following:

  1. Read and discuss Code Blue as it applies to the various functions of health care management. Complete the short assignments associated with the text (Units one through four).
  2. Complete a visioning exercise and the values checklist.  
  3. Create and submit a resume.
  4. Develop and submit a personal career plan.
  5. Participate in both online and face to face discussions related to items 1 through 4.
  6. Participate in the class project with your team as well as complete individual tasks for the project.
  7. Complete a comprehensive exam to assess knowledge and competency in various facets of health services administration.
  8. Improve competencies using resources from prior courses and resources provided in this course.
  9. Report progress in planning and executing either a thesis or internship.
