WS 3050 Feminist Theories
Radical Feminist Paper Topic
Select one of the following question and compose an answer of at least 6
type-written, double-spaced pages:
1) Compose a radical feminist critique of the work of either Harriet Taylor
Mill or John Stuart Mill. In writing this critique, be sure you have a
direct thesis statement that clearly sets out the major elements of your
critique.
2) What is the primary cause of women’s oppression, patriarchy or a
legal/political system that denies women rights and access to the public
sphere?
3) What should marriage look like, institutionally, socially, sexually,
etc.? In answering this question, in addition to presenting your answer to
this question, be sure to address how both radical and liberal feminists
might answer this question. Is either correct, do you think? Why are
either/both wrong (if you think that they are)?
In answering either of the above three question be sure you draw on both the
radical feminist and liberal feminist material you have read for this class.
