The United States Civil War was a monumental event that shaped American history. Taking place between the years of 1861-1865, the American Civil War battles were fought on US soil, mostly in the Southern states. The American Civil War was one of the most deadliest wars in US history. However, the American Civil War ended the issue of slavery as well as giving the national government more power and control over the country.
