Obervations project

Choose one:

• ride a municipal bus from campus to downtown Ogden. Who are your fellow passengers? interview one of them -- do they ride the bus regularly? What do they think about riding the bus?

• observe one of the central city parks (in Ogden that would be: Lorin Farr, Monroe, Liberty) on a Saturday. Who are in the park? Interview someone in the park? Our they there often? What do they think about the park?

• shop in a grocery story which mainly serves an ethnic community not your own. Observe what kinds of foods are avaialble. interview one of the custoers. Is this their usual grocery store? What do they think about it?

Write a short (2 pages) paper: recount your observations; how could these observations become data for a social history? What addition research might you persue?
