Week One Introductions
Readings:
Discussion: Comment on Mann's article in three parts: 1) a summary of the author's argument, 2) a brief outline of the high points of the article, and 3) an evaluation of the author's argument--how does he make his case (sources, etc.). How did Mann's article help you re-consider life in the Americas prior to European intrusion?
Oral presentation: Use one of the sources listed below; find a topic; report for 2 minutes on the issues, persons, concerns expressed
