Assessment Requirement
The WSU Foreign Language
Department requires a Senior Portfolio from all graduating majors in German,
French, and Spanish, during the last semester of the senior year. If you are a
language major in German, French, and/or Spanish, you will need to save on disk
at least one sample, preferably more, of your best work from this course and
from all other language courses you are taking toward the fulfillment of your
Foreign Language major requirements.
In creating your Senior Portfolio, you will be asked to take a
short oral exam and also fill out the Senior Assessment Form. The entire process
will take only a few hours over the course of the semester, assuming you have
maintained a portfolio sampling your best coursework.

Assessment
During the senior year, all
foreign language majors will complete the course ForLng 4990 in order to help
the Foreign Language Department assess how well it has met its goals. Students
are encouraged to keep copies of their best work from each course in the major.
These examples will be used in ForLng 4990.

Required of all majors during their senior
year. Students will assemble a portfolio with a reprentation of their work in
the foreign language. Speaking skills will also be evaluated. Must be completed
before graduation clearance.
