WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS
Pop Psychology: This first assignment is a paper and presentation
addressing the therapeutic nature and evaluation of a popular self-help book
(e.g., The Secret, Five Love Languages). Details about how
to identify the key therapeutic assumptions and procedures for a rigorous
evidence-based evaluation of those assumptions are discussed in the handout.
Exploring what Psychologists Do: This second assignment is a paper and presentation addressing the background, training, and responsibilities of a psychologist. You will research a particularly specialty in psychology and then interview a psychologist who is working in the area. The results of your research and interview will be presented in class and written up.
APA Paper: This assignment
involves writing up the data on students' knowledge about psychology and their
belief in the Psychology as a science.

Ethics Scenarios: Informal discussion of reactions of ethics scenarios.
