Teal Pond (Steffani Davis & Alix Hoskins)

In summer 2009 we monitored water quality and habitat change in three ponds at the Ogden Nature Center.  This research was funded by the Weber State University Office of Undergraduate Research.  It was conducted in collaboration with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Northern Regional Office.  A goal of the project was to assess the suitability of the ponds for introduction of the imperiled least chub (Iotichthys phlegethontis).  Steffani Davis and Alix Hoskins each presented posters at the WSU Undergraduate Research Symposium in Spring 2009, entitled "Habitat research for a least chub refuge at the Ogden Nature Center" and "Conservation of the least chub due to negative interactions with nonnative species".
