In 2000, I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of New Mexico where I studied Environmental Economics. My interests include: (1) using survey methods to estimate non-market values of environmental resources; (2) evaluating preferences for preserving unique environmental assets characterized by irreversible depletion caused by development and uncertain future benefits; and (3) understanding how individuals discount the costs and benefits of the far future.
