Recommendation from the Salary, Benefits, Budget and Fiscal Planning Committee -

3.5% Cost of Living Across the Board (Mandated by the Legislature)

1.0% Merit determined by Department Chair and Dean with oversight from the Provost.

0.5% Equity and Retention Adjustments - For faculty members identified by Deans and those with equity gaps. (The Provost will provide money for those with 20% equity gap)

Medical/Dental increases covered by 9.2% (of the medical/dental benefits) provided by Legislature

Other - Instructional Wage increased to $945 per credit hour

$300,000 Additional funding for online courses

Retention is different than equity. Retention money could be used for outstanding faculty that you want to retain, even if they are making more money than others in your department.

MOTION 
Gene Sessions: Moved to forward to the Faculty Senate the above salary recommendations from the Salary, Benefits, Budget and Fiscal Planning Committee.
Second: Wade Kotter
Outcome: The motion passed unanimously.

ELECTION 
Today is the election of the Chair and Vice Chair. Gene Session will chair the election of the Faculty Senate Chair. Election Tellers for both the Faculty Senate Chair and Vice Chair will be Tamara Chase, Ron Holt, and Jack Mayhew.

GOVERNANCE AWARD 
The 2006-07 Executive Committee will meet on March 29 to review and select the faculty member to receive the 2007 Faculty Governance Award.

2007-08 COMMITTEES 
The 2007-08 Executive Committee will meet on March 29 to work on Faculty Senate Standing Committee members and chairs for 2007-08.
