REST 4630 Continuous
Quality Improvement (1-2) Su,F,S The continuous
quality improvement project enhances an
understanding of how to construct and conduct a
quality improvement (quality assurance) project in
the workplace.
Justification:
As one of three REST 4800 courses required for
Baccalaurette Respiratory Care Practitioners, this
course seperates the individual projects to specific
courses required for the degree i.e., advanced
patient assessment, health promotion, and continuous
quality improvement (CQI).

No. The requirement
is the same but identified by a seperate course
number. The designation of REST 4800 hides the fact
that were specific for each topic.

course differ from similar offerings by other
departments? Comment on any subject overlap between
this course and topics generally taught by other
departments, even if no similar courses are
currently offered by the other departments. Explain
any effects that this proposal will have on program
requirements or enrollments in other department.

An acceptable
substitute is HIM 3300 for a face-to-face offering.
The CQI project allows students to design and
impliment a specific project to meet the needs of a
particular hospital workgroup.
