PEP 2500. Skills, Drills, and Strategies for Coaches (3) F, S This course is designed to provide information on skill development, practice and game planning, season schedules, creating drills and practice sessions, motivating players and coaching tips.

Justification: The increase of semester hours from 2 to 3 semester hours for PEP 2500 is necessary to more adequately cover addtional, necessary standards as outlined by NCACE, the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education which is a non-profit organization established by sport leaders from across the country and is a sub-committee of NASPE, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. After a full year of teaching PEP 2500, Skills, Drills and Strategies (2) within the Coaching Sport minor and the Physical Education/Coaching Dual minor, it has become evident that additional curriculum needs to be included (Basic taping and wrapping techniques for coaches)along with an expansion of presently listed currciulum such as the development of team strategies, offensive and defensive. (2) Two semester hours are insufficient to do justice to the selected curriculum.
