DIVERSITY LEARNING OUTCOMES

Outcomes are based on the 6 categories of the AACU Intercultural Knowledge and Competence VALUE Rubric which is attached to this form.  The Benchmarks, Milestones, and Capstones are based on student outcomes, therefore at least three semesters of assessment data must be presented indicating achievements at the appropriate levels.

 

1.  All Diversity (DV) courses must include curriculm curricular content and demonstrate evidence of student learning in at least 4 of the 6 key components of intercultural knowledge and competence

 

            a.  Knowledge of one’s own cultural rules and biases (cultural self-awareness)

 

            b.  Knowledge of other cultures and cultural worldview frameworks

 

            c.  Skills – Empathy

 

            d.  Skills – Verbal and nonverbal communication

 

            e.  Attitudes – Curiosity

 

            f.  Attitudes – Openness

 

2.  All Diversity (DV) courses must include curriculm curricular content and demonstrate evidence of student learning at the Milestone 2 level or higher on the rubric in at least two of the four chosen categories (a – f).
