Lessons from AASCU Institutions I - University of Northern Iowa
Today we begin a sequence of materials entitled "Lessons from AASCU Institutions" which present portal experiences from our institutions. Our first information is about a portal project at the University of Northern Iowa. My UNIverse is a beta version of a student portal developed at the University of Northern Iowa, and is an example of a campus that has chosen to build their own portal. This approach to portals was introduced in an earlier lesson.
The information from the University of Northern Iowa is
accessible at http://weber.edu/portals/university_northern_iowa.htm
I appreciate very much the willingness of our
colleagues, Aaron Podolefsky, the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Garry
Bozylinsky, Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services to
share their portal efforts with us and to grant us access to their systems. I
believe you'll agree with me that this is indeed an impressive achievement.
On Thursday we'll present the results of Dakota State University's partnership with zUniversity on a portal project. If your university has developed or is developing a portal, I would very much like to hear from you and to share your experiences with the Provosts on Portals project.
I understand how busy our schedules can become as the term progresses and appreciate your continued involvement and interaction with this project.
