Campus Portal Readiness

Today we begin a two-part series designed to provide guidance in determining whether your campus is ready to begin a portal project.  By now you should have a good working knowledge of what portals can do and some of the advantages they can bring to your campus.

The questions relating to readiness involve the technical capabilities of your systems and people, your ability to afford and maintain a portal system, and whether your campus will benefit from this technology.  These questions and criteria are presented at http://weber.edu/portals/Readiness.htm

Additionally we reference an excellent article from The College of Holy Cross that presents a thoughtful and thorough effort to develop a campus portal plan.  We also ask for feedback from experiences on your campus with a portal project.
