Today we feature portal work at California State University - Hayward. CSUH has developed a very interesting approach to portals which suggests the possibilities of multiple portal projects for their campus. Included in their materials are a JA-SIG prototype, a Blackboard course portal demo, and a working zUniversity site.

The approach at CSUH is described and developed well in a thoughtful and comprehensive paper. The concept of multiple efforts or transitional portals may be especially appropriate for campuses that are in the midst of or who see an administrative software conversion in the future. The information on portal work at CSUH is accessible at http://weber.edu/portals/csu_hayward.htm

On Monday we will begin a four-part series looking at specialized portals, beginning with a presentation of distance learning portals. Your continued involvement in this project is most appreciated.
