Paths for Further Investigation
Today's lesson presents additional information on a variety of topics. It consists of a topics page with seven pages of information and links. These include a wide variety of information collected in the preparation of the Provosts on Portals seminars.
Unlike previous lessons this can not be completed in 5-10 minutes. I would suggest you start with the two pages of additional information that apply directly to higher education - portal strategies and additional learning portals.
Next you might consider looking at some of the business examples provided. Many of the promising directions for future campus portal development are contained in current efforts in other areas. The materials here present exemplary business portals, commercial portal vendors, government portals, and vertical portals.
The final page is a compilation of the articles, case studies, comparisons, and other information presented in this course.
The introductory page to "Paths for Further Investigation" is
accessible at http://weber.edu/portals/futher_investigation.htm
It is my hope that this information will serve as a catalyst for
future portal study on your campus.
Thursday I'll be sending an executive summary of the provost portal project. Thank you for continuing with this effort at an especially busy time of the year.
