¡Bienvenidos! I have been working at Weber State University since Fall 1999 in the Foreign Languages Department. Currently, I am a first-year assistant professor. I teach lower and upper-division Spanish courses. My main research interest is early modern picaresque novel, with emphasis on the racialized representations of pícaras. I work mostly with orientalism, race and cross-culturalism. Lately I’ve been looking into convent literature, specifically the work of Sor Isabel de Villena. I also enjoy Catalan language, literature and history, and the works of women writers from both sides of the Atlantic.. In my free time I like to read, write, paint, and spend time with my family.
