Research (publications)

I am interested in the representation theory of Lie algebras, quantum groups $U_q( \mathfrak g)$ and related algebras. Basically, this means that I am interested in looking at ways in which these objects can act as linear operators on a vector space. When I was at the University of Arizona, I worked on some very interesting projects in mathematics education (see CEMELA). Here is a link to a talk that Cynthia Anhalt and I gave at MSRI.

A bit about me

Before coming to Weber State, I was a "teaching postdoc" at the University of Arizona. Prior to that, I was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. While I was in Madison, I met my wonderful wife Jenn. We have two cute kids who can count pretty high but cannot yet solve differential equations.
