History 4985    Historical Research and Methods

An examination of comparative interpretations and analyses of history. The foci are on the question of objectivity and how historians use primary sources and draw conclusions. We will consider how historical approaches throughout history are reflections of contemporary philosophies. We will also deal with philosophical, methodological, and historiographical issues within the craft of history. This class is intended as preparation for the senior thesis in history.
