Final Paper

The final paper should be at least 25 pages but no longer than 35 pages in length. If should follow the guidelines in Rampolla for a final clean copy of a research paper. It should be footnoted or endnoted, include a cover sheet and bibliography, free of grammatical errors, written in lucid style, well organized, and show intensive interpretation of primary sources and proper use of secondary sources.

Plagiarism will result in the student receiving a failing grade for the course and further University disciplinary action according to the Student Code.

To avoid plagiarism, you must give credit whenever you use:

• another person’s idea, opinion, or theory;
• any facts, statistics, graphs, drawings—any pieces of information—that are not common knowledge;
• quotations of another person’s actual spoken or written words; or
• paraphrase of another person’s spoken or written words

You must submit two copies--one for MacKay to read and grade and one for filing with the Department of History.

The paper will be evaluated using a rubric.
