Book Presentation

The Oral presentation should focus on:

  1. the relevance of the book to issues we have been discussing, to the help it gives (or does not give) you in understanding major themes, ideas, goals of the class.
  2. your reaction to the text--what surprised you? what had you not considered previously?
  3. why or why not are you recommending this book to your colleagues?

Provide your colleagues with a handout:

  1. short biography of author (in addition to consulting the Internet, consult the Literature Resource Center, available through Stewart Library)
  2. complete bibliographic citation of text (use Chicago Style Manual, i.e. Turabian)
  3. complete citations of any scholarly book reviews you may have consulted.
