Currently I am serving as Associate Dean for the Jerry and Vickie Moyes College of Education and the Director for the Boyd K. and Donna S. Packer Center for Family & Community Education. I have taught and currently teach numerous courses within the department in both the early childhood and family studies area; advise students majoring specifically in Family Studies and also across the department; and supervise practicum, directed reading, and field experience students. I am also the NCFR advisor to the Child and Family Studies Student Organization.

I am also chair of the Weber State University Charter Academy Governing Board. This is a public Charter School authorized by Weber State University. Weber State University Charter Academy (WSUCA) provides an outstanding educational choice within the public education system for Kindergarten students and welcomes students from Davis, Morgan, North Summit, Ogden and Weber School Districts.

I have been a faculty member in the Department of Child and Family Studies at Weber State University since 1979. During that time, I have taught a variety of different courses within the department in both the Early Childhood Education Major and the Family Studies Major. I served as department chairperson from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2012 and September 1, 1987, to June 30, 1995. At the present time my major responsibility includes teaching courses that pertain to both the Family Studies and Early Childhood/Early Childhood Education Majors.

I have served and continue to serve on numerous professional association committees. I have also held and continue to hold numerous offices within professional associations.

I taught high school prior to coming to Weber State University and have worked with and for different corporations to help develop curriculum.

This consulting firm focuses on corporate and personal effectiveness consulting, managing change, developing leaders, and building teams. On-site seminars and workshops are offered and training materials to assist corporate trainers are provided. The areas of my professional interests are numerous but have recently focused on the diverseness of families throughout the world and the influence difference cultures and their practices have on the family. Also, looking at stress and the effects it has not only on individuals, but also on families according to the systems theories.
