PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS:

The areas of my professional interests are numerous by have recently focused on the diverseness of families throughout the world and the influence difference cultures and their practices have on the family. Also, looking at stress and the effects it has not only on individuals but families according to the systems theories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

I have taught numerous courses within the department in both the early childhood and family studies area. Advise students majoring specifically in Family Studies but also across the department. Supervise practicum, directed reading, and field experience students. I am also the NCFR advisor to the Child and Family Studies Student Organization.

This consulting firm focus on corporate and personal effectiveness consulting, with a focus on managing change, developing leaders, and building teams. On-site seminars and workshops are offered, and training materials to assist corporate trainers are provided. Clients include public and private sector individuals and firms, educational institutions, government organizations, and professional organizations.

I have been a faculty member in the Department of Child and Family Studies at Weber State University since 1979. During that time, I have taught a variety of different course within the department in both the Early Childhood Education Major and Family Studies Major. I served as department chair from September 1, 1987 to June 30, 1995. At the present time my major responsibility includes teaching courses that pertain to the Family Studies Major.

I have served and continue to serve on numerous professional association committees. As well as have held and continue to hold numerous offices within professional associations.

I taught high school prior to coming to Weber State University and have worked with and for different corporations to help develop curriculum.
