Announcements and Updates

  1. Classroom update -
    • team members REALLY appreciate systems opening up classrooms and turning on stations each morning. They would LOVE it if this service could continue? We are often racing between classes and when a subject specific session is the first session of the day it is confusing to let them know about how to turn on stations and about the no password, etc...
    • Elmo and Altiris are still quite flaky in room 31? Please let systems know whenever you have problems.
  2. 2003/2004 teaching schedule - Faculty need to send Carol their teaching schedule preferences by the end of next week, October 5 if possible, so she and Kathy T can begin to set up draft 2003/04 schedule
  3. Training - Only Carol and Shaun were interested in PDA training. It seems the Dreamweaver training will be the priority for this semester.
  4. Information literacy competency exam - Carol provided an update. it is now on Chitester. Data will appear in each annual report.

Discussion

  1. English 2010 and FYE informal assessment and SNAP - Carol and Kathy T are setting up all instruction evaluation feedback forms in SNAP. All should be ready to go for next semester.
  2. New IL Web structure  - several suggestions were made. See link with changes approved by team. Let Carol know if there are any other suggestions on this. There was broad agreement that the instruction team would like to request a change in WAG policy regarding the location of Intranet pages. Kathy P was the only one to express slight concern, but she said she didn't feel strongly about it.
  3. New Web pages - Please let Carol know if you'd like to serve, or even chair a subcommittee on this. If she doesn't get volunteers, she will seek to appoint...
  4. Information literacy plans for each college or department - Carol will put out a rough draft of a template to begin the process that is seen as long term...
