1. Announcements
Untangling the Web - this is becoming very popular. 23 attendees at first session, 32 at the second session.
WSU Tech Fair Sept 23/24 - we will do what we did last time, unmanned booth, a general session on "new resources"
Roy Tennent video - October 7 at 1:30 PM in Special Collections. Joan will provide refreshments
2. Discussion
2010 and FYE -
Slide show seems OK for the most part. Carol will also put it on the Web.
We had a long discussion on the 2010 exercise. It has MANY problems. Carol really appreciated the input and dialogue. Many useful suggestions were made. Carol will try to incorporate all suggestions and send out a new draft in the next couple of weeks.
We discussed trying to offer 2010's later in term but fear it will further complicate room scheduling. Carol will get feedback from 2010 instructors after the spring sessions.
Instruction team policies
A new procedure has been added for when THEY no show. This seemed OK with everyone.
Only one student has taken the information literacy exam so far, for the WSU Computer and Information Literacy Competency Requirement. The student passed with 83%
As may arise
Ruby asked if there was a possibility of getting something like Lanskool in the classrooms. Carol will ask.
Faculty Issues
Review student end of course evaluation form - Jill and Ruby agreed to serve on a subcommittee but were unwilling to Chair. Carol will chair.
Web Team update - Web pac issues need to be resolved. Webpac has been moved to new server. MANY web links are wrong. We still don't know where it will be or when. We probobly need to decide sooner rather than later.
Subject specific instruction issues - scheduling seems to be better now. Cats room can be used for smaller classes. Joan clarified the statement regarding for faculty in the draft accreditation report. She wrote: "my intent was for these workshops to be library-wide, like the one we did last year. Offering one each semester at a time when faculty might be able to attend would be great." We had a couple of good ideas on things we could do...
Carol thought it would be nice to invite departments to have their departmental meetings in the library classroom with refreshments and finishing up with a short library session
Jill suggested a themed session on copyright/plagiarism or E-journals with a campus wide invitation and refreshments
Information Literacy Competencies Exam Subcommittee - Evan has done a few more. Other subcommittee members may bring any additional questions they have to Carol at any time, sooner is better.
As may arise
