WELCOME!

A special welcome was given to to new team members - Lonna and Fran

A big THANKS was given to parting team members - Marlene, Briana and Leona

Fall ‘98 English 2010 (formerly 112) draft curriculum

The latest draft of the exercise and PowerPoint (that were attached to agenda) were discussed. The following suggestions were taken: Add definition of a URL to slide show, Add "Infotrac" Searchbank throughout. In addition, a new section on Boolean logic and controlled vocabulary has been added. This was added because so few students knew anything about this on review of last Spring’s learning outcomes assessment data, and because with semesters it was felt that students had a longer time to work on the exercise.

FYE UPDATE: Carol met with Judy Elsley and Michael White after the instruction team meeting. They are interested in making the library instruction session much shorter and really don’t want their students to have to read very much (if anything!) I have am preparing a much shorter slide show and exercise for them that focuses on getting to know a few areas in the library, and asks students to better evaluate Internet information. I will send it out to library faculty/staff involved in FYE as soon as it is finished. It will not be any more difficult for us to present than the 2010.

GENERIC INSTRUCTION SESSION FEEDBACK FORM:

Carol has prepared a generic and quick instruction session feedback form. Anyone may use this at any time to assess or evaluate any instruction session. Leona has made hundreds of copies on yellow half sheets and they are available in the classrooms. Please take advantage of these to collect data on how well you are teaching! I used them last week for two of my 2010's and it was great to get some concrete feedback from students right after the session.

INSTRUCTION WEB PAGE UPDATES:

The following Web pages have been updated:

The following Web pages have been added

LIBRARY INSTRUCTION TEAM WEB PAGES:

All of the information needed for Instruction team has now been put on the Web. I think this will make it easier for each of us to access it, as we need it, we won’t need to file it, and it is much easier for me to update and distribute it. The following pages are now available at http://library.weber.edu/libinstruct/team/default.html or from a link off of the Library Instruction main page:

CLASSROOM SCHEDULING
