Entire Team Issues1. Announcements - Carol
Jordan is absent and did not find a replacement to conduct the meeting, take notes and prepare minutes, so Carol will do it.
Carol explained the UALC Information Literacy Proposal. We are working together to present a proposal to the UALC directors to update the Navigator along the lines of some of the other new Web based tutorials (like TILT and EIL) that are out there
2. 2010 Subcommittee updates - JillJill gave the final report from the English 2010 subcommittee. The subcommittee members are Jill, Joan, Lonna and Peggy. She listed all the suggestions for the slide show and exercise.
3. English 2010 and FYE - Carol Fall schedules and letter have gone out. Summer schedules will go out tomorrow.Carol presented a new draft exercise and slide show incorporating all the subcommittee suggestions. Further suggestions are always welcome.
New draft brochure: Carol is working with Joel in Cats to develop a new "General Guide" that includes basic info on collections and services and maps. The team supports the design concept. She will send out a draft later in the semester and will request comments and suggestions. Thanks!
4. General Sessions : Untangling the Web
Carol presented the draft schedule. She still needs details from Ruby and Jordan. She is working with Fran to invite a guest speaker from the Family History library.
5. Information literacy exam subcommittee update
Carol's HU1115 students took 50 randomized questions from the webtester exam and all but one student passed the exam at better than 70%. We need to continue to build the question database. Each team member has agreed to create two new questions over the summer to add to the database of questions. Carol is working with Jeff Willden and Craig Gundy to get Webtester to work the way we would like it to. Carol is working with Garth in CATS to create a practice test.
Other faculty may use the exam, just let Carol know in advance so she can be sure to set it up the way you need it.
6. Web team Update - Jill
The web team will learn about the new face of weber.edu from garth at the meeting next week. Web usage data is available although we would like it to be much more focused on database use, like the data SUU gets.
7. Scheduling classrooms - Wade
Wade brought it to our attention that the classroom has been booked for multiple Wednesdays by a CE group and that they aren't really using the PC's. Carol will discuss this with Kathy Lane.
8. As may arise- There were none.
