Discussion
1. Outcomes assessment - Girl Scout cookies are forthcoming!
Carol presented results of team input on how our curriculum can/could meet the ACRL standards and outcomes. She will print these out and would like team members to highlight 5 to 10 priority outcomes for each type of instruction that we may wish to measure in the future. This will be very useful as we continue to work on an assessment plan, both to meet the needs of the university, accreditation, ACRL standards and to work to continually improve student learning.
Carol has prepared a draft mission and statement of purpose for the beginning of an Instruction Program Profile she is preparing. Please take a look and make comments and suggestions and return to Carol in the next week or so.
Carol demonstrated the WSU Assessment Web and how subject bibliographers may be able to use outcomes presented by specific departments in planning for future subject specific instruction
2. Tracking instruction statistics - The team would like faculty that are doing instruction that does not fall into the norm to calculate the approximate comparable contact hours and use that on the instruction data form.
Team members will also track departments served, and the instruction data form has been altered to comply.
3. Latest draft 2001/2002 Teaching Schedule is available, Carol has made changes this week in response to suggestions by Jill and Kathy P. Please review to make sure your schedule is correct.
4. Altiris demo - Frans demo didn't exactly work, the banner was gone and stations were not connecting? She will get back with Chris to see what is going on and will put instructions in the notebook when and if she has time.
5. Other items as may arise - Joan reported on President Thompson's meeting. Data on raises is not firm, but may be about 4%.
