Thursday December 5  at 1:30 in room 138.

Announcements

  1. Classroom update - Carol will ask Chris to update us on Altiris as it was down earlier. Several faculty feel Elmo in 131 is wavy or shaky and may need new bulbs? Carol will ask Chris to check
  2.  and 3. Fran handed out the new English 2010 and FYE schedule. Carol will redo the exercise and PowerPoints and send out drafts first week of January to team with suggestions from team including:
    • highlighting database finder
    • and information literacy requirement.
    • catalog and Internet search boxes 
  3. ULA poster session - Shaun, Joan and Fran have submitted their project to ULA for next Spring
  4. Patriot Act teleconference - with Weber County Library employees Dec. 11, 9:30 AM, CATS everyone is encouraged to attend. This will be instead of our Spring workshop. Fran will try to invite some other public librarians from Morgan, etc.

Discussion

  1. Staffing plan for Wade's classes for Spring - Joan and Wade will discuss at next CM meeting.
  2. Internet Navigator Adjuncts - Sally Patrick, Keith Slade and Leslie Baker will be teaching the Navigator for us next Spring as we have over 700 students. Please offer to assist them and Janae, who will all be teaching for the first time. Carol will have a training session for them next week. Kathy, Art and Shaun, Please send any tips you may have to Carol  early next week.
  3. New  Web pages - Carol is working on these...
  4. Guides page/plan - Kathy will update to show that CM now oversees research guides.
  5. Undergraduate research initiative and Draft outline of an information literacy plan for a department, we need to keep working on this...
  6. As may arise
    1. Wade asked for confirmation on some UALC database orders
    2. Kathy asked about adding a link to academic search elite on the database finder page
    3. Wade's students filled out the wrong eval form but we found the data and sent to kathy T
    4. Janae's students filled out the form while the server was crashing and Kathy T is working with systems personnel to hopefully find copies...Otherwise the new SNAP  evaluation worked well!
