1. FYE and English 2010

Corrections to 2010 & FYE exercises - Fran announced that the corrections to the English 2010 exercises had been penciled in. All 1200 copies have already been printed for the semester so they will not be corrected and printed again. If you find any other changes or corrections that you notice pencil them in on the copy at the desk and they will be corrected for future sessions.

Fran will put a copy of the FYE exercises in boxes as they have not been printed yet. Take a look at the exercise and note any changes or problems so that they can be corrected before they are printed.

Fran noted that there have been many scheduling changes and six no shows for 2010, so check the web calendar for updates in scheduling.

The number of teaching assignments will be addressed by Carol in the fall.

Off campus sessions have no computer or overhead accommodations. Library instruction consists of lecturing only - no demonstration or hands-on. Tell them how to get to the web site, give out handouts & maps, explain remote access, etc. Basically go through the exercise explaining the catalog, databases, etc. Joan suggested that in the future the Davis County classes could meet at the Davis Center. Fran will check on this. There are more and more night classes, so this could be a good alternative to what is happening with these sessions now. Briana suggested holding sessions at a nearby county library. Fran noted that there were a very limited number of computers at the public libraries and high demand, so this would not be an alternative. Joan is going to investigate whether or not out-dated computers purchased with gift funds for our library could be gifted to the public libraries.

2. Instruction Team Goals

1. An automated web based scheduling system for classroom scheduling has been purchased. It should be up and going by summer semester. It is not official yet, as it needs to be tested by Fran. This goal has been met.

2. The second goal of a marketing plan for the Information Literacy Program to be written within the Library’s marketing plan is probably not going to be completed by the end of the semester. The Library’s plan has not been completed yet, so the Information Literacy Program’s plan cannot be included. This goal will be worked on actively.

Faculty should look at where they are in meeting individual instruction goals and meet with Joan if there are problems.

3. Spring Workshop

Shaun has scheduled a marketing workshop with Edwin Staffer from USU. He comes very highly recommended and will talk on the 4 P’s of marketing. The county library will be invited. The workshop will be held Wednesday, March 13, from 1-3.
