1. Students will be able to feel comfortable asking for help, in order to continue to learn as needed

Pedagogy: Presentation given by pleasant smiling librarian using Powerpoint outline..

2. Students will know what types of library services are available in order to use them effectively (ILL, Circ, Reference, Reserve, Remote Access, information)

Pedagogy: Brochure, brief Web demo, exercise

3. Students will be able to use Academic Search Elite in order to effectively find full text articles.

Pedagogy: Demo Web, followed by exercise using Academic Search elite. Exercise will center
around one of the FYE modules (alcohol, sexual harassment, etc.)

4. Students will know what the Information Literacy Competency requirement is in order to meet this requirement

Pedagogy: Powerpoint outline and Demo Web.

 

 

Each student will complete the FYE Library/Internet Skills Exercise.

FYE students will complete the online feedback form

Instruction Services librarian will meet with FYE faculty and staff focus group at least once a year to gather comments and suggestions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each student will complete the exercise in every section.

Many students will complete the evaluation/ feedback form each semester.

Comments from focus group will be communicated with the team. 

Statistics on numbers of students served appears in the instruction team annual report

Data and comments will be used to continually improve these sessions.
