Stewart Library Classroom Guidelines
Please assist us in maintaining our classrooms (138 main level and 31 lower level) by following the guidelines listed below:
Scheduling Guidelines:
Please schedule use of the classroom through the Web classroom scheduling form
We welcome all WSU faculty to work with a member of the library faculty to design library instruction sessions and/or assignments for your students
Although the library classes and library instruction sessions have priority use, we welcome the use of the classrooms by other departments, as available
These classrooms are generally booked most mornings from week 2 through week 6 of each semester for library classes, English 2010 and First Year Experience library instruction sessions.
Because these rooms are so heavily booked they are generally unavailable for off campus patrons
We prefer that all scheduling be done at least two weeks before room is needed.
If you later decide NOT to use a room you have scheduled, please let us know by calling 626-6403 (M-F 8:00 AM.-4:00PM) ASAP so we may make the room available to others. THANKS!
Classroom and Equipment Use Guidelines:
Faculty/Staff: If you are not working directly with a librarian, please ask Reference or Media /Reserve staff to open the classroom door for you.
Students in for credit Lib Sci 2201, 3401, HU1115 or Theatre 1053 classes may ask Media/Reserve staff to open classroom 5 to 10 minutes before faculty arrive. Media/Reserve staff may do so to alleviate noise and congestion.
For other sessions, room may be opened by Reference or Media staff as soon as the instructor arrives.
Faculty/Staff: Please make sure lights are off and the door is closed and locked when you leave. Do not leave the room unattended.
Do not turn off any stations when you are finished. Library staff will shutdown stations daily.
Do not install any hardware or software without our assistance and consent! This includes connecting laptops. Call 626-7681 if you have any questions.
We assume you will use our existing hardware. If you need to use your own hardware or laptop, please let us know well in advance so we can schedule Systems support.
Make sure that you have access to all the hardware and software you need well in advance of using the room. Also make sure you get the username and password to login to the teaching station.
The binder on the teaching station contains instructions for the various viewing and listening options available from the teaching station
We prefer that food and drink NOT be brought into the classroom. If it is a very special occasion and you want to bring food or drink into the classroom, please let us know in advance and be extremely discreet. ALL food and beverages must be consumed at the round tables and may not come anywhere near the computers. Do not allow students to leave the classroom while consuming food or drink.
Thanks again for helping us keep our classrooms in the best possible condition for our students
