About the Presentation:
Libraries are increasingly being asked to show how our efforts and resources are impacting learning, teaching, and research outcomes in higher education. Parent institutions, legislatures, accrediting agencies, the public, donors, and importantly, our users, are asking us to pay attention to user needs, to shape our services and resources to meet those needs, and to find ways to measure outcomes to evaluate how we are doing. By listening to users, caring about the impacts of our efforts and investments, and collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, we can all create a continuous "culture of assessment" in our libraries where decisions and priorities focus on users. This program will address the importance of assessment and how to make it a core component of library operations.
