Promoting Interfaith Dialogue

In an attempt to transcend disciplinary boundaries and contribute to an improved understanding of diverse values and beliefs, the Religion & Ethics Resource Center sponsors book discussion groups across the university campus.  Our goal is to promote an atmosphere for dialogue in which tolerance, understanding, and the diversity of ideas are honored. Groups may be composed of students, faculty, and staff in any combination.
Reading groups which foster dialogue across religious traditions are especially encouraged.

Funding and Support

Students, faculty, and staff who would like to form an R&E book discussion group are welcome to propose a book for adoption.  We encourage you to consider a book that will appeal to people from more than one faith tradition.  After approval, we will purchase copies of the book and see that they are distributed to members of the reading group.   If you need help in filling your group with members, we can publicize the reading group and refer interested people to you.

To propose a book discussion group, simply contact Brian Davis with information about the book you wish to use and the number of copies needed.  You can send this information by e-mail to bdavis@weber.edu or call Brian at 626-7947.
