Mayon

Mayon Volcano is an active volcano in the Philippines, on the Bicol Peninsula, southeastern Luzon Island, about 16 km north of the city of Legaspi in Albay Province. Mayon Volcano rises 2421 m and has a circumference of 130 km It is at the centre of Mount Mayon National Park and is a major tourist attraction in part because it is the most perfectly symmetrical volcano in the world. Mayon Volcano is crowned by a halo of vapor that gives off a bright glow at night. The first recorded eruption of the volcano was in 1616.It has erupted more than 30 times. The most destructive eruption was in 1814, when the nearby town of Cagsawa was buried. In February 1993, Mayon Volcano erupted killing 67 people.
