Scholarship Policies
Decisions will be made by a departmental committee soon after the announced deadlines, and winners may use the funds for the following academic year or for an upcoming study abroad program.
Some awards are language specific and cannot be transferred to other language or travel programs.
Successful applicants will demonstrate clarity of purpose in their language studies. Majors with upper division standing will be given priority, but all language students are eligible to apply.
No funds may be applied retroactively.
All decisions are final.
Individuals may receive more than one award while at WSU, but they must be enrolled in foreign language courses at the time of application.
Travel funds must be used in conjunction with Weber State sponsored study abroad programs.
In years when no study abroad program is available in a given language, students may use funds for programs resulting in credits being transferable to WSU.
Funds cannot be awarded for travel carrying no academic credit.
